LEGISLATIVE VOICE

AAM was formed to be the voice of the apartment industry on the state and local levels. AAM’s strong advocacy on issues such as security deposit law, rent control and apartment inspection have saved apartment owners countless dollars over the years. The Association retains Karoub Associates in Lansing as its legislative representative.

OWNERS ON THE RISE

AAM hosts two to three events each year for new and aspiring multifamily rental property owners to help them build their business network and provide resources for success.

WORKERS’ COMP FUND

There is an alternative to traditional workers’ compensation programs: self insurance through AAM. Formed in 1981 by and for AAM Members, the Apartment Building Management Workers’ Compensation Self-Insured Fund (ABMWCSIF) has returned 40% of premiums to is members. This program alone can more than pay for your membership.

EDUCATION

AAM provides education for all aspects of the multifamily industry. The Association sponsors many seminars throughout the year including Fair Housing, Leasing 101, maintenance classes and Real Estate Continuing Education.

INSURANCE

Because of AAM’s size, the Association is able to offer dental insurance through DENCAP Dental. Simply contact Association Offices at 248-737-4477 to check rates

ROSTER & BUYERS GUIDE

AAM provides its members with a Buyers Guide which serves as an excellent referral system for our members. We encourage members to do business with other members. The membership list is updated quarterly online.

Building Business & Apartment Management magazine features articles to keep you up-to-date on the latest legislative, regulatory and code issues as well as marketing and rental techniques.

INFORMATIONAL RESOURCES

The Association offers members informational resources - such as required lease information, sample inventory checklist, lead-based paint disclosure forms, etc. These help you save time!

ECONOMIC FORECAST

Each Fall AAM hosts the Economic Forecast and Apartment Market Update. Attendees receive information critical to their business planning.
