AAM Bulletin: CDC Extends Eviction Moratorium
June 28, 2021
Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced the extension of the national eviction moratorium through July 31, 2021. The moratorium was due to end on June 30, 2021. In an encouraging sign, however, the CDC news release stated, “This is intended to be the final extension of the moratorium.”
Additionally, Governor Whitmer has signed legislation appropriating $378 million in additional renter assistance funding from the federal stimulus. These funds will continue the COVID Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA) program which is being administered by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA).
